The Role of CT in the Treatment of Osteoedastioma
Osteoedastioma can most effectively be differentiated from a stress fracture with high resolution CT scan as systemic workup is not required. MRI is usually not recommended as it can mimic aggressive lesions due to the surrounding bone edema. The most common painful benign active lesions found in the tibia is osteoingastioma. It is not uncommon for these lesions to be misdiagnosed as stress fractures in active children and teenagers.
