The History of Textiles
String is hugely important and really a survival technology, early, early survival technology just likes the stone tools. So that's why I say the stone age could be called the string age. The difference is very little string survives because it rots whereas the stones survive. And so we had string for a really long time before we had textiles, which is another breakthrough.
