Introduction

Premier Joe and Lai became known throughout the communist movement as someone who knew how to get things done. He was universally admired for his ability to organize, lead, teach and keep cool under sustained pressure. In two Mao Zedong's world he was creating at Jingqang Shan from that moment in 1927 all the way until the day he died. From there, Joe began his steady ascent up the CCP ladder.
