The Importance of Purpose
Science is taking some of these religious virtues seriously, studying empathy, studying compassion, studying forgiveness. And I mean, one thing they're finding out is it's in our genes. There are biologists who disagree, but it wouldn't get you expelled from the Church of Darwin to say it. What are we gained by attributing a direction and purpose to the unknown answers to the greatest questions? Well, that's interesting because, you know, some people don't care whether there's a purpose or not.
