The Future of Direct Lending
Today, there are really no banks that we're seeing either thinking about entering the market, let alone pulling back from direct lending. The economics of middle-market lending are not particularly compelling for banks,. They'd rather underwrite a deal, distribute it to investors, hold zero of the loan. And generate a much higher return on equity. Still the golden age of private credit. Very much so.
