Do Not Be Angry Without a Cause
The difficulty lay in one little clause. If this clause were removed, all would be clear. So I endeavoured to find some philological explanation of the words that should not destroy the sense of the text. The word is only used once in the gospels, in the passage in question. We find it several times in the epistles, in the first epistle to the Corinthians, chapter 15 verse 2,. Therefore there seemed to be no other possible rendering of the text and I found myself obliged to believe that Christ said, do not be angry without a cause.
