The DHS Program for Venezuelan Migrants

The DHS announced a new program for Venezuelan migrants aimed at easing pressure at the border, which includes sending Venezuelans back to Mexico unless they apply through a limited program. Since August of 20, we've gotten 25,000 illegal immigrants, 154,000 since 2021 in August, 6,000 came alone of 2020. We really are looking for a federal response to this to take ownership of a crisis and we'll be there to help. But this belongs in the federal government. These are human beings. They don't need to be shipped all over. They need to have the dignity of a place over their heads while they're going through the asylum process.
