What Did You Find When You Exposed Mice to Papade Allergen?

In the lab, we use a model allergen called papade, which is from papayas. We found that when we expose the skin to papade or to this papaya allergen, and then we reproduce it using fungal allergens and dust might allergens, we found that the mice would immediately really develop this itch response. And so for the first time, even though we couldn't directly activate dendritic cells, we could actually take sensory neurons, grow them in a dish, and then see the calcium flux of those sensory neurons.
