The Art of Remembrance
The art that surrounded the cadaver tombs can tell us a lot about what really mattered to people at the time. These new means of memorializing the dead aren't just interesting from an art history perspective, because how you died was so important. The commemoration of being remembered and making sure that you are protected in the after life was eternally an important thing. And one of the ways we can see this is through this growing brass industry.
