Lincoln ordered more monitor-like ships built. 70 of them would be constructed during the war. The British Royal Navy canceled all construction of wooden warships. Confederate Navy even built ironclad ships. But they kept it weird. One ship was shaped like a giant turtle with an iron tusk.
