The most critical time is that first 24 hours. 99 % of the kids who were abducted and killed are killed within that time frame. There's so much knowledge now about real crime, true crime, red flag behavior. And yet, jim, the frustration for me as it seems to be law enforcement seems to be blind to that knowledge. You can't wait a week or a month or a year. It has to be treated.
Today we analyze the cases of 21 year old Keeshae Jacobs who disappeared in 2016 from Richmond, VA and 16 year old Amaria Hall who went missing in 2019 from Trenton, MI. Neither mother of either girl was able to get law enforcement to react with urgency about their daughters. Jim talks about the terrible consequences of the "wait and see" attitude when it comes to the missing. Laura points out how important it is for law enforcement to examine baseline behavior in victims and identify red flags.
