Himalayan kingdom decriminalised homosexuality last year. Lawmakers voted to repeal two key elements of the country's penal code. Activists say Bhutanese, particularly in rural areas, were not really aware of the gay community's struggle for equality. Many LGBT activists say there's still a lack of awareness about their community and the issues they face. The government is more open than the public, says activist Pemma.
