The Second Mob War
In a hundred years time, people are not going to feel about the second mob war. But it will be seen as having much more in common than at the moment we think they're dissimilar. Once european powers had become industrialized, more militarized, the struggle for global power became essential to their sense of identity. And its that struggle, which goes on from the id nineteenth century through to the 19 forties, which seems to me to be the context that really frames both first war war and the second warld war.
