I think oftentimes American policymakers are quite hypocritical because they use the logic of wanting to overthrow dictators to aid people that are suffering. And so here's one way to do that. Don't support the most brutal dictators in the world, even if you can benefit in other margins from doing so. But what happens when you inject weapons into a situation where you have a terrible government? What happens when you give aid to a government that is terrible? Do you think they're going to magically transform into do good or?"
