Multiple hereditary exastosis is an autizoma, dominant inherited disease caused by mutations in the e x t. Mutations in e x t one appear to cause more severe clinical presentation with larger and more aggressive asticondromas as well as an increased risk of malignant transformation. Peers at all review the literatre and their centres experience with their cohort of patients with multiple hereditary exastoses. Specifically, they discuss the surgical indications and options available due to limb malalignment and several other conditions. The most common joint affected is the knee. And the rate of transformation to condrasarcoma is less than ten%.
