Guinea Bissau has long served as a transit hub for international cocaine traffickers. In recent years, drug use there has reached epidemic proportions. There is just one other inpatient facility for addicts in the whole country. The pastor insists patients are only chained up when they pose a threat to others or have a history of violence.
