The goal in partitioning is to try and spread the data around as evenly as possible. In a kofka world, you want that keing strategy to have something about it that would cause it to spread over the data. And if all your rights are only being served by that single node, then that one thing, that one node, is getting a beating for that day,. The next day it's another node, you know, et cetera, etcetera.
