And i's thats something that gives it its character, i think. Yeand on that level, i think there are differences between the empires. But over all, in the spanish empire or the english empire, or any of them, they end up sending relatively small groups of private actors with delegated authority to go out and work out their own problems. The slave trade, in every step of the way, including controlling enslaved labor in america, was military, is a military operation.
