Addressing Discrimination and Ensuring Equal Housing Opportunities

This chapter provides an overview of the National Fair Housing Alliance (NFHA) and their mission to eradicate housing and lending discrimination. It discusses various forms of discrimination, such as appraisal bias and sales discrimination, and highlights the legacy of discriminatory practices in mortgage credit underwriting and appraisal. The chapter also explores the historical and systemic segregation of black and Latino communities and discusses the impact of residential segregation on access to credit.
