The Importance of Education in India
The gross enrollment ratio at the primary level is close to 100%. But only 27% of kids who get into first year of college after grade 12 are accepted. The other interesting fact is that every month, about 10 to 15 lakh young adults start looking for work. They do not have skills to do a good job. We've got quantity, we don't have quality, because if there was quality, you would have the massive drop off. Education is so precious. And that is where it is such an important thing that the country cannot develop unless we have these kids, less than 19 year old, get a good education.
