30 to 70% of sinescent cells produce a huge range of factors that can include proteins, fats and prostiglandons. They also damage what we call extra cellar matrix like the background composition of tissues - yet they themselves don't die. Once you get above a certain threshold of snese cells, the rate of spread exceeds the ability of the immune system to clear them. It's one of the reasons why organs transplanted from older into younger recipients don't do well. The increased abundance of sne cells starts impairing immune function and allowing further accumulation.
