The federal reserve stepped in with trillions of dollars, and they began putting money in every exotic corner of the financial system. This loose monetary policy, this historic monetary stimulus, ended up leading one of the fastest recoveries from a definition of a recession in history. We had an asset bubble brewing from the summer of 20 20, when stimulus checks were being mailed directly to people. When there was zero % interest rates and there was a persistent bidder in the market the federal reserve, we saw assets explode upwards.
