The Pros and Cons of Arthroscopic Reduction and Internal Fixation
The Essex Lopressi maneuver is a maneuver to manipulate the heel to increase the calcaneal varistiformity. This can be combined with the sinus-tarsi approach. The benefits of this approach are decreased soft tissue dissection, preservation of local blood supply and removal of loose bone fragments. These patients will be kept non-weight bearing for 6-8 weeks post-op with ankle range of motion exercises beginning two weeks after op.
