Drew Barrymore was on a flight from Tampa back to LA 25 years ago. The baggage compartment above our seats, the latch was broken on it and the door just raised by itself. They wouldn't take off until they could get the thing sort of taped up. It's an example of... I wouldn't say just do it, but unnecessary safety.
