Percutaneous Screw Fixation of Skafoid Weights Fracture
A 21-year-old male underwent percutaneous screw fixation of a non-displaced skafoid weights fracture seven months ago and now presents with persistent radial-sided wrist pain. What is the next best step? The choices are one, clinched fists, breast radiograph, two bone scan, three MR orthography, four fat-suppressed T2 weighted MR imaging, and five fine-cut CT scan. Fine-cut CT scans have shown to be the most specific imaging study to assess for fracture union after technical errors have been excluded with basic radiographs. Lutsky at all suggests that skafoid non-union is conventionally defined by no healing of the fracture
