Moses had led the Israelites out of slavery and through the desert. Now they were camped next door to the promised land. He sent 12 men in to spy out the land. After 40 days, 10 of those men came back with a negative report. They said, Moses, we don't have a chance. The people are too big. We'll never defeat them.
