The welsh speaking the bretonic speaking group of celtic speakers in cornwall and cumbria did s ultimately with the english. They haven't fused totally, even to this day, but they did fuse with the English. And you never see any soft moment of brotherhood between thesethe people in what we would now call wales, scotland, ireland, cornwall.
