What Was the Greek Understanding of the Universe Beyond Earth?
In the starry cosmos section, we're looking at how the ancient greeks sought to map and model the night sky m. A celestial e very intricately carved from about 300 to 100 b c is one of my favorite objects. And with that globe in particular, it's the em positions of the constellations that are important. We know that they believed that everything in the universe was connected by mat mathematics and was a part of this sort of perfect whole and knowable. So religion was very much a part of their daily life and not something that could be separated from it.
