Shannon's Death Was Ruled Accidental, but They Didn't.
Shannon's family didn't agree with the coroner's findings when in 2012 her death was ruled accidental. The only thing missing from her body was her hyoid bone, which is very small and can be carried away easily by animals or even gotten lost in that marsh. A missing hyoid can also indicate strangulation; a second autopsy found insufficient evidence to determine any definite cause of death.
