In inflation, you want things that are too heavy to carry. Commodities around the world are terrific inflation hedges like bhp and woodside petroleum. You can buy a company that earns nothing with commodities - they don't pay royalties. One challengers with commodities is albinist who pays no taxes on profits made from tolls. So all these companies will go bust if interest rates continue to rise. But it's better for investors to hold onto their current assets rather than buying
