Do You Think There Was an African Presence in Britain?
Before Julius Caesar arrived here, there were Greek Iberians sailing up to Britain. Southern England was part of a kind of trading system that stretched down to what is now Morocco and North Africa. Do you think the nature of that sailing and trading relationship means there would have been an African presence in southern England? And we see that evidence, don't we? Is it African or Mary Rose?
