The Seven Years War and the Revolutionary War
The first shots against English soldiers fired in the aftermath of the seven years war are fired in western Pennsylvania against British troops who are protecting overland British traders. The indigenous populations are not going to simply accept British dominion and so they launch a series of unexpected campaigns called Pontiacs War. They destabilize British Imperial rule making peace essentially more costly than war itself. It's a really kind of complex aftermath that has been in my mind completely or almost entirely excise from the traditional narrative on the origins of the revolution.
