The History of Medicine and Alcohol

Since medical recipes and medical knowledge has survived you'll find alcohol is a key feature. Wine in particular has had a hugely important role in medicine so much so that I guess if you talk to a historian of medicine they would probably not even notice it because it's so ubiquitous. Can you tell us a bit more about how alcohol has been connected to ritual over time? Yeah yeah this is one of the perennials like them like the medicinal and sometimes they intersect.
