In Leviticus 4, expiation was conceived of as a cleansing or wiping away of impurity. The verb in Akkadian and Hents in Hebrew is not that kipare, Hebrew kipare refers to the action of wiping. God looks upon what's being done in the ritual according to his command. You have been purged from anything that would mar our relationship. you are now fit for sacred space.
