The firm was started in 2009 by Ben Horowitz and Mark. Both of whom were entrepreneurs in the early days of, of the Internet. They wanted to bring an operational mindset to venture capital investing. One of the hallmarks of our model is we really do see ourselves as partners with the entrepreneurs that we invest in. We try to provide them as much as possible with operational guidance and expertise so that they know how to run and scale their businesses.
