The Moab King's Response to Bail Him

The king of Moab sent messengers to bail him. God's first response was basically a big fat no. Don't go with them, don't even attempt to curse them because listen, they're blessed and there's nothing you'll be able to do that will alter that blessing. So he sends some leaders this time who are more distinguished than the previous ones. And then we have this surprising verse 22: The Lord took his stand in the way as an adversary against him.
