Dependency theory was, initially, it was developed in brazil in the years leading up to the 19 64 cu. It was developed in two distinct circles of intellectuals. The paulistas in saupalo were led by a future neoliberal president fernando henrique doso. And then there was the bBrazilia group, which included the now long since famous german scholar, andre gunder frank. Dependentista took sepa's conception of centre and peripherys as a basic starting point but rejected the notion that the development paradox was really a paradox at all.
