The Pure Imminence of the World
There's a tradition in the West in philosophy of conceiving the mind as a kind of light, that the intellect casts light upon a dark world and illuminates things. But what happens in Satori is that you're letting objects have their own light. And this gets us to the Dogen's idea of the self. So in Dogen and Zen in general, there is no Atman, there's no self,. There's no like solid core, like avocado pit to you that is eternal and transcendent. You are synonymous with your experience. That's what the self is. Everything is becoming in a very white heady end kind of way.
