The Real Problem With AI Is That It Will Not Take Over the World
The real problem with AI is that people who will use it for evil deeds and the social to that both to the evil people on the potentially evil AI is to have more powerful AI on the good side. The GDPR requires that all material decisions about people be explainable, you know, by decisions by algorithms. And this is a very common turn off because the more accurate models are the more complex ones and therefore the less explainable. So there is the quintessential example of a bad misguided regulation with good intentions. It comes from not understanding that there's an avoidable trade off between accuracy and explainability.
