We still have a ways to go for racial equity in the country for black Americans, particularly when it comes to wealth. In 2019, the median net worth of a typical white household was nearly eight times higher than that of a typical black household. One key factor driving the disparity is access to credit. We'll take a closer look at the challenges black communities are facing as we see a broader pullback in lending.
