The Epistemological Gap in the Study of Consciousness

I'm not at all sure that this line between exterior and interior rules out very much about the study of phenomenology. The way in which it's going to be mapped by science is fundamentally different than the way in which certain other kinds of behavioral processes will be mapped because of the nature of the epistemological gap. I am saying it's a different kind of, it's a vector of a knowledge or knowing that is opposite to the standard scientific view and that makes it challenging. We're only starting with consciousness studies now due to brain imaging techniques and the difficulty that we have in accessing it.
