The Importance of Understanding Northern Ireland
I think for me, and for a lot of people in my age, is itBrexit really demonstrated how little Britain actually understood about Ireland. There was always this notion that English politicians knew very little about Northern Ireland. I think there was a real lack of consideration at how fragile the peace here is. Rishi Sunak has certainly rode back from the position the Tories were in previously with the EU in striking the Windsor framework deal. But he still hasn't got the DUP on board, of course.
