Zhou Enlai and Deng Xiaoping
Zhou Enlai was the natural choice to be put in charge of the party journal Red Light, or Chirguang. Under Zhou, it became a leading United Front publication. In France, Zhou worked side by side with Deng Xiaoping, who famously operated the mimeograph machine. The Zhou-Dung relationship lasted more than four decades and it all began here.
