Amanda tried her best to be herself in prison, but she had no idea how to behave in prison. She would see a guard one day and just casually say, oh, how's your day? And they would spit at her, you need to stop kidding yourself and acting like we're friends. So amanda retreat into her cell, and she spent 16 hours a day learning italian. This is actually the diary that a she used to help write her memoir. And i think that's why it's so raw, because the lot of it she wrote when she was in the height of those emotions.
