Dr. Livesey met the squire at his home in Bristol, where he was staying with Jim Hawkins. The doctor had a clue about Blackbeard's treasure and wanted to take him along on a search for it. But when Mr. Dantz finished his ale Dr. Livesey said: 'I propose we should have up the cold pie, and let him sap' And so they sat down together eating pigeon pie until their food ran out. Doctor then asked if there was any way of getting hold of some money that might help them find blackbeard’s hideout. ‘There is no such thing as bat money,' cried the squire; but this did not stop him
