Nearly 530 million people, almost 40% of the population were under some form of lockdown as of late November. Almost every person that the Chinese government could find that was participating in a demonstration through facial recognition got a visit from police. They weren't arrested, but they were told, we know you were involved in this. We want you to pledge not to do it again. And by the way, if you do, you're going to lose your job. You're going to go to jail. That's a that's a big deal. And it's a small and rare win for the people living under a brutal dictatorship.
