How Did Marriage Work in the Dynasty?

Most egyptians during the dynastic age, they just had one, one husband, one wife. But the royal family is different because the king has many wives. And inside the harims there were many different sorts of women. There were women who were foreign born and who came to egypt to marry the king. Those women don't tend to go on to be consort as i think they didn't want foreign born or half foreign born children to inherit the throne.
