What Is Section 702 of FISA?
Section 702 of FISA is a piece of US law that allows in a court overseeing way the US government to collect communications of non-US persons located abroad where their communications are reasonably expected to have foreign intelligence value. It was first passed in 2008, and it's been passed a number of times with bipartisan support in both houses of Congress; presidents of both parties signed it into law.
