The Trump Administration's Fast Action in Syria
Pentagon says they did alert Russian military officials before the strike, that this was happening to their normal deconfliction channels. The hope is that it's not going to provoke an over-top reaction from Russia but that remains to be seen. They could have gone for trying to take out Syria's air defense system completely which would be pretty much a declaration of war.
