The Purpose of Prayer

The purpose of prayer is not to inform god as if he were ignorant. The more we say, the more likely he is to understand what our needs are. True prayer is impossible unless and until god has reconciled us to himself through jesus christ. And when he is our father, we're his children, then and only then can we begin to pray. He gives us the great privilege of calling him what jesus called him.
